nullBritish weekly television and radio program listings magazine, Radio Times, is reporting that Idris Elba is not only planning to reprise his role as John Luther in the bit BBC series "Luther," (which will also be getting an American remake), but he’s also working on an album inspire by the character he plays in the crime drama series.

"I’d like to dissect the idea of someone who has to deal with so much darkness […] Detectives carry a lot of stuff. They meet someone who’s done something heinous, but they have to have an objective perspective on them until proven," Elba shared on BBC Radio 4’s "Front Row" program. He added, "That could create some really good songs… and definitely an interesting mood, musically."

Indeed.

His affinity for music certainly isn’t news, but an album based on John Luther is interesting and intriguing, I suppose, and I’m curious to hear what he comes up with.

The album’s current working title is "Murder Loves John."

This news comes after the announcement of Elba’s Nelson Mandela-inspired album titled "mi Mandela."

As you recall, he played the late leader in the 2013 film "Long Walk to Freedom."
