In terms of noteworthy new casting additions, Aunjanue Ellis joined the cast of "Sleepy Hollow," to play another surprising figure from Abbie’s (Nicole Beharie’s) past – her mother.

Fans of the hit FOX TV series will know that Abbie and her sister Jenny (played by Lyndie Greenwood) were both taken from their mother, Lori, as children, because of Lori’s mental condition, and become part of the foster care system. The girls thought their mother was crazy and possibly dangerous, and that she killed herself years prior. However, new information is revealed in the new season that will link the sisters with the truth about their mother, as played by Aunjanue Ellis.

"Sleepy Hollow" returns for season 2 next week Monday, September 22 at 9/8c on Fox. An all-new TV season is upon us. Time flies…

Ahead of Monday’s season premiere, Fox has released a series of "catch-up" videos, called "Sleepy in Sixty (Or So)" which helps fans of the series (whether existing, or new to the series) get caught up on the various key characters, and story threads. I must admit that even though I did watch all of season 1, these refreshers were helpful in reminding of where last season left off, as the new season begins. And maybe you’ll find them helpful as well… or maybe not.
