Natasha Rothwell has signed a new overall deal with HBO, deepening her relationship with the premium cable network.
She is currently a series regular and supervising producer on the network’s Issa Rae series Insecure.
Under the overall deal, Rothwell will develop a project for the network to write, produce and star.
Rothwell is having a breakthrough film moment after appearing in this year’s YA film Love Simon. She’ll next appear alongside Gal Gadot in Wonder Woman 1984, Tika Sumpter in the live-action Sonic the Hedgehog and Tiffany Haddish in Limited Partners.
Before Insecure, she was a writer for Saturday Night Live and wrote for and starred in Netflix Presents: The Characters.
