The Inside Out fans have spoken regarding their feelings over Inside Out 2.

Disney and Pixar announced that the Thursday release of the trailer for Inside Out 2 has become the biggest animated trailer launch in Disney history. The trailer had a whopping 157 million views in just 24 hours, topping the trailer views for Frozen 2. The trailer also had a big response on TikTok, earning 78 million views.

The connection fans have to the first Inside Out is palpable, as discussed by Pixar Chief Creative Officer (and creator/director of the first Inside Out) Pete Docter.

“We are thrilled so many people have tuned in to check out the new trailer for Inside Out 2. When the first film came out, we knew that by telling a story where we could see our emotions–those little voices inside your head–there would be so much more to explore than we could possibly fit into one film.”

The sequel’s director Kelsey Mann and her team, said Docter, “have done such a great job with Inside Out 2, expanding the world and introducing new emotions that we’re very anxious for audiences to discover. We couldn’t be more grateful to see the kind of response the trailer has received so far. Thank you to all who have checked it out–we can’t wait for everyone to see the film when it comes to theaters next summer.”

Docter’s “anxious” hint was a clever way to drop the fact that the newest emotion joining the film is Anxiety, voiced by Maya Hawke. She joins the returning cast of Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Lewis Black and Tony Hale, with Liza Lapria taking over Mindy Kaling’s role as Disgust.

Inside Out 2 comes to theaters on June 14, 2024.
