With a super buzzy legal drama pilot that is likely to score a series renewal from ABC this week, 50 Cent and his G-Unit Films and Television have another budding project that is in the works at Starz.

The project, Intercepted, is described as a “soapy drama,” based on the best selling novel of the same name by Alexa Martin. It is the first of a three-book series. La La Anthony is attached as the star and an executive producer.

Here’s what Deadlinewho broke the news, says of it: Described as a funny and fresh contemporary romance, Intercepted centers on Marlee Harper (Anthony) who is the perfect girlfriend. She’s sure had enough practice, dating her NFL-star boyfriend for the last ten years. But when her relationship unexpectedly ends, she vows to never date an athlete again. Only one problem: Gavin Pope, the new star quarterback in town has Marlee in his sights.

This series is being developed as a part of 50 Cent’s mega first-look deal at Starz. Anthony, who recurs on the 50 Cent-produced Power, has also recurred recently on Fox’s Star and co-starred in BET’s The New Edition Story.
