Issa Rae is headed to Paramount.
The Insecure creator and actor has signed a three-year first-look production deal with Paramount, starting this month, according to Variety.
Deadline also reports that Rae will “work closely” with Dana Goldberg and Josh Greenstein, who co-chair Paramount, as well as Paramount Motion Picture Group President Don Granger and Paramount Television Studios President Matt Thunell.
What Issa Rae says about new Paramount deal
Rae said in a statement that she is ready to get to work with the studio.
“I’m so looking forward to starting this next chapter with the incredible team at Paramount to tell stories for and by the diverse communities that have supported my work over the years,” she said.
Goldberg and Greenstein added, “Issa’s creative force whose work consistently feels fresh, funny and deeply human. She epitomizes the kind of exceptional artist we’re proud to partner with across film and TV to break new ground in elevated storytelling.”
Rae worked with Warner Bros. Discovery’s HBO and HBO Max for most of her career thus far, with Insecure, Sweet Life: Los Angeles, Rap Sh!t and A Black Lady Sketch Show.
She has, of course, starred in Insecure while also starring in other films like The Lovebirds, Barbie, and The Photograph (which she also executive produced) and more.
