James Davis welcomes you to his neighborhood with new Comedy Central series “Hood Adjacent with James Davis,” debuting Wednesday, June 28 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.
Born and raised in South Central Los Angeles, one block away from where “shit goes down,” James Davis shares his perspective on the world he grew up in and the world he grew up next to. “Hood Adjacent with James Davis” explores contemporary topics through a hybrid style of comedy.
The premiere episode follows James as he explores the “Hood,” what defines “Hood,” and why it’s only glamorized or villainized by the media. He takes us on a journey to the “Hood” with his friend Stevie J to earn his “Hood Pass” and introduces us to a “Trap Kitchen.”
Episodes will launch day of air on cc.com and the Comedy Central app as well as the day after air on iTunes, Amazon Video, VUDU, Microsoft Movies & TV, Google Play, Verizon Multi-Screen and Frontier Communications.
“Hood Adjacent with James Davis” was originated by Davis and Doug Karo and is executive produced by Davis, Brillstein Entertainment Partners’ Alex Murray and Shawna Wexler, Rikki Hughes, Troy Miller, Sean O’Connor, and showrunner Jim Margolis. Tara Schuster and Kelci Parker are the Executives in Charge of Production for Comedy Central.
