The Queen Of Pop is often revered as the blueprint for our musical faves, from modern-day legends like Beyonce, Brandy, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Aaliyah, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga and Usher to newer faves such as Tinashe, Lizzo, Normani and Doja Cat.
In the first trailer for the upcoming Lifetime and A&E documentary Janet, The Queen Of Pop is taking fans inside her own velvet rope.
“She is a force to be reckoned with,” says Paula Abdul in the trailer.
Candid and unfiltered, the four-hour documentary will never-before-seen interviews, intimate footage from throughout Jackson’s career, and contributions from her family members and industry peers. The first trailer for the documentary also features from Jackson’s iconic peers, such as Mariah Carey and Paula Abdul.
Janet will air over the span of two nights in January 2022, to coincide with 40th anniversary of The Queen Of Pop’s recording career.
This is my story, told by me, not through someone else’s eyes,” Jackson says in the clip. “This is the truth. Take it or leave it, love it or hate it: This is me.”
