John David Washington remains on a roll.
A new report claims that the actor is set to star in the next Christopher Nolan film. The Inception and The Dark Knight trilogy director’s last film was Dunkirk n 2017. Although the film already has a release date of July 18, 2020, not much is known about it, but Washington’s role is wanted by many around Tinseltown. Variety says, “The gig has become one of the more highly coveted in town, even though most of the industry has been kept in the dark about who has been meeting for the role and what the movie is even about.”
The trade publication says two rumors and theories are going around involving the movie. One is that it is “a romantic thriller in the vein of North by Northwest, a theory that Variety sources, in turn, denied. Another is that the film is “a massive, innovative, action blockbuster, which will again be shown in IMAX.”
After breaking out on the small screen as the star of HBO’s Ballers, last year was a banner year for Washington on the big screen. He earned critical acclaim for his roles in Spike Lee’s BlacKkKlansman and Reinaldo Marcus Green’s Monsters and Men, with the former earning him Golden Globe and SAG nominations.
