Jumani: Welcome To The Jungle‘s actor Ser’Darius Blain has landed a prime role in the pilot for The CW’s reboot of Charmed.

On the planned series, The CW says “this fierce, funny, feminist reboot of the original series centers on three sisters: Macy, Mel and Madison, in a college town who discover they are witches. Between vanquishing supernatural demons, tearing down the patriarchy, and maintaining familial bonds, a witch’s work is never done.”

The network has stated this will be a “feminist” version of the show, and what description has received backlash from its original stars, questioning how the long-running cult classic was not feminist.

Blain’s character is Galvin,“the ideal boyfriend (to Macy), funny, mellow, in touch with his emotions, totally on board to follow his lady across the country for her dream job. An aspiring filmmaker who has yet to catch the break he’s sure is just around the corner.

So, its not what you are thinking. This seems to not be some twist as to have him as one of the three sisters, but because he is described as a co-lead, he will have a very substantial role in the series. In the original series, the love interests of the sisters had supernatural backgrounds.

Deadline first reported Blain’s casting.
