If you are a fan of Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta, then you know that Kandi Burruss doesn’t play about two things — her money and her family.

In an interview with People, Burruss said, “I despise it. It bothers me so much,” when asked about the online attacks toward her 20-year-old daughter Riley.

Riley, who had been featured on Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta with her mother since she was 7 years old, is now a student at NYU. Recently, the young reality star had to set the record straight when social media began to spread pregnancy rumors based on a photo she posted on her Instagram stories on her birthday. Fans who have watched Riley grow up on screen are aware of the weight issues that she has dealt with in the past, and Burruss said having to watch her daughter get attacked on social media is deeply upsetting.

“You can deal with anything for yourself, but you don’t want your kids to be bullied online. … It’s just really terrible,” Burruss said. “Words definitely matter. … I’ve seen one of my kids definitely get bullied multiple times.”

“The people who watch our show and who are on our show, sometimes they take things too far, and it’s not cool. It’s crazy,” Kandi continued. “This is a TV show at the end of the day.”

The music and media mogul isn’t the only one reeling from online bullying. The family of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Garcelle Beauvais has also been dealing with hateful comments from some Bravo fans online.

Beauvais shared a message from her 14-year-old son, Jax, pleading and reminding viewers that he is just a kid who, instead of enjoying his first week of high school with his friends, had to deal with social media attacks.

Burruss recently reached out to Beauvais to offer support for her and her sons.

Although Burruss and her daughter are reality TV vets, that is still no excuse for online harassment. Some things and some people should be off limits.
