Keith Powers has landed the lead role opposite Gabrielle Union in Netflix and AGC Studios romantic comedy The Perfect Find, which will be helmed by Jezebel‘s Numa Perrier. It was adapted for the screen by Leigh Davenport, based on the book of the same name by Tia S. Williams.

Union stars as Jenna Jones, who is hopeful that her new job in beauty journalism will be a fresh start in her life. She soon learns that her new boss, Darcy, is her frenemy. Jenna starts a relationship with the company’s videographer, Eric, and things get complicated when she learns he’s Darcy’s son.

Jeff Morrone and Black Love creators Tommy Oliver and Codie Elaine Oliver are also producing, as well as Union through her I’ll Have Another production banner. AGC Studios is financing and producing as well. AGC’s Stuart Ford and Glendon Palmer are executive producing, as well as I’ll Have Another’s Holly Shakoor Fleischer.

The Olivers talked about the project when they stopped by and spoke with us at Shadow and Act in 2018:

Powers, who burst onto the scene with roles in projects like Straight Outta Compton and The New Edition Story, can be seen soon opposite Chris Pratt in The Tomorrow War. He is also filming the indie drama On Our Way.
