Kendrick Sampson is the latest name to join the cast of Showtime’s comedy White Famous.
As a recurring star, Sampson and Natalie Zea join the previously announced cased of Jay Pharoah, Megalyn Echikunwoke. The half-hour comedy, executive produced by Foxx and Tom Kapinos (creator of “Californication”), is written by Kapinos, based on an idea by Foxx, who will also guest star in a recurring role.
A co-production between Lionsgate Television and Showtime and based on Foxx’s personal experiences, the project will focus on a talented, young African-American comedian named Floyd Mooney (Pharoah) whose star is rising, forcing him to navigate the treacherous waters of maintaining his credibility as he begins to cross-over towards becoming “white famous.”
Sampson is most known for his recurring role on ABC’s hit drama, How to Get Away With Murder.
