Facebook is continuing its push into scripted programming, ordering a new drama series for its platform for original content, Watch.
It is a project produced by Kerry Washington and so far, Madison Pettis and Hayley Kiyoko have been tapped to star.
According to Variety, “Five Points is set on the South Side of Chicago and takes a look at high school students from five unique points of view. When a life-changing event occurs, all of these different perspectives will be necessary to understand the truth.” The other three teens have not been cast yet.
The series was created by Adam Giaudrone, who will serve as writer and executive produce. Washington and Jon & Jake Avnet of Indigenous Media will also executive produce, and Ben Fast will also be a producer. Rodrigo Garcia and Thomas Carter will also executive produce, with Carter as the series’ director.
Facebook Watch’s current original content includes reality series on Ball in the Family and Loosely Exactly Nicole, which it took over from MTV.
This is another project for Washington behind-the-scenes. She has an overall deal at ABC and has some things in the works over there, including the comedy Melting Pot and a drama series on four LAPD women cops.
She’s also exec producing Universal’s City of Saints and Thieves with Will Packer, directed by Melina Matsoukas.
Pettis has an extensive resume as a child actress, and is most known for her role on the first spinoff of That’s So Raven entitled, Cory in the House, from 2007-2008. Since then she’s starred in the kids’ series Life with Boys and Lab Rats.
