Kevin Hart has been hospitalized after suffering “major back injuries” in a car accident.
The Hollywood Reporter says that Hart was not driving the car, but someone named Jared Black. The report says “Black lost control while driving from southbound Cold Canyon Road to eastbound Mulholland Highway, where the car left the road and rolled over down the northern embankment. After the car rolled into a ditch, Black and the other passenger, identified as Rachel Broxterman, were trapped inside.”
It is reported that Hart left the scene and headed to his home nearby, and he and Black were taken to hospitals to treat the injuries to their backs.
It was not reported that Broxterman was taken to the hospital. Alcohol has been determined to not be a factor in the crash.
Hart’s wife, Eniko, told TMZ on Monday that the actor and comedian was “going to be just fine.” His surgery is complete and he is expected to be in the hospital for the next few days.
