The second season of L.A.’s Finest is about to drop next month, and a new trailer, featured below, will help fans get excited for what’s to come.

The second season, which was greenlit in 2019, will debut on Spectrum Originals June 8. The series, starring Gabrielle Union and Jessica Alba, is a spinoff of the Bad Boys film franchise. Union reprises her Bad Boys character Special Agent Sydney “Syd” Burnett, the sister of Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) and love interest for Mike Lowrey (Will Smith). Sydney is now working with Nancy McKenna (Alba), a working mother who has a complicated backstory.

The first season was the most buzzed-about and highly expensive pilot in 2019, costing $12 million to produce. After NBC passed on the pilot, Spectrum Originals became its new home.

Union told Shadow And Act in 2019 what it was like to co-executive produce the series with Alba, saying, “It’s like, we feel like boss b*****s. It just feels really good that two women of color are the leads, are the executive producers, put the whole thing together and that we know that we are deserving of this opportunity. That nobody gave it to us, we took it.”
