La La Anthony recently spoke about an essential subject with HelloBeautiful in an interview. The actress discussed how she encourages her 15-year-old son to appreciate the beauty of Black women as he enters maturity.
“I definitely make sure that [Kiyan] understands there’s not one kind of [beauty], there’s not one definition,” Anthony told HelloBeautiful.
She described how she has always shown her son various Black women, each with unique beauty.
“I always show him beautiful Black women — all different types from all over the world. From all skin tones and all hair textures. I randomly send him a picture of beautiful women I come across,” Anthony continued.

She also emphasized the value of compliments, letting him know that she thinks they are essential. To succeed in relationships, she advises him to remember that women appreciate compliments on their physical beauty.
“I also make sure that he knows it’s important to uplift women and give compliments. I’ll come home, and I’ll be like, ‘Hey, you didn’t say anything about my outfit today or my hair,’” she explained.
“It’s not about me. It’s because I want him to understand how important that is for women,” she said. “So when he gets into relationships or when he has female friends, he knows it’s important to compliment and make them feel beautiful.”
“I use myself as the reference because I am the woman that’s in his life right now,” Anthony perfectly described.
It’s no secret that La La is a terrific mother who strives hard to educate Kiyan well. We have faith in her abilities to shape him into the remarkable individual she hopes he will become.
