A Saved by the Bell revival series is coming to Peacock, but don’t expect to see Lisa Turtle.

Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Mario Lopez, Tiffani-Amber Thiessen and Elizabeth Berkley will appear in the series, as well as the new group of students, portrayed by Josie Totah, Dexter Darden, Alycia Pascual-Peña, Haskiri Velazquez and Mitchell Hoog.

Lark Voorhies, who portrayed Lisa Turtle, talked about not being approached for the revival series on Dr. Oz, as well as her mental health struggles. “I have to admit I did feel a bit slighted and hurt when I was not invited to be part of the Saved by the Bell reunion, as well as other cast members events. Yet, of course, I also realized that having this puzzling disorder may have played a major part in that actual decision. With that in mind, I am truly thankful for having had the chance to work on a show that has been so successful.”

Oz asked her how she felt when looking at a photo of  Gosselaar, Berkley, Lopez and Thiessen reuniting for a dinner.

She said she felt “empowered,” adding, “they have the right to do that and they’re happy in their element and they can have it, certainly.” When asked if she wanted to be a part of it as well, she responded yes, saying, “Family isn’t kept complete without its lead.”

The revival will be one of the first series on Peacock. According to The Hollywood Reporter, here is the description: The new straight-to-series comedy explores what happens when California Gov. Zack Morris (Mark-Paul Gosselaar’s role) gets into hot water for closing too many low-income high schools and proposes the affected students be sent to the highest-performing schools in the state — including Bayside High. The influx of new students gives the over-privileged Bayside kids a much-needed and hilarious dose of reality. Lopez and Berkley will return to play their beloved characters A.C. Slater and Jessie Spano, respectively, in what sources say are new roles as parents.

The original series ran from 1989-1993 on NBC. It resulted in two different spinoffs, Saved by the Bell: The College Years and Saved by the Bell: The New Class.
