British actress Lashana Lynch is in final negotiations to replace DeWanda Wise in Captain Marvel.

Lynch is most known her starring role in Shonaland’s short-lived ABC period drama, Still Star-Crossed. 

We first learned Thursday that Wise would no longer co-star in the film.

Multiple outlets reported Wise likely exited due to the filming of the second season of She’s Gotta Have It. 

This key role has never been revealed, but rumors persist that she would have possibly been the superhero Monica Rambeau, a superheroine now known as Spectrum, who once had the name Captain Marvel as well. In Marvel lore, she’s assisted Larson’s Capital Marvel, Carol Danvers.

The 90s-set film will star Brie Larson as the titular superhero, along with Samuel L. Jackson reprising his role as Nick Fury, Jude Law and Gemma Chan.
