LeToya Luckett and Camille Spirlin have joined the cast of the second season of Fox drama series “Rosewood.”
The hit crime-drama-romance series ended its first season with a cliffhanger, as fans were left wondering whether Rosewood (Morris Chestnut) and Villa ( Jaina Lee Ortiz) would finally stop with the teasing, and just get together already!
My guess is that the teasing will continue into next season. I’m sure the producers of the show realize what its key draw really is; and they certainly won’t risk losing you by giving you exactly what you want… but maybe really don’t want, ultimately. Admit it – you like being teased! You want Rosie and Villa together, but then again, you’re not sure you do because if the producers/writers give you that, there’s a chance that, with all that anticipation gone, you just may not find the show as engaging anymore.
Or maybe you will… time will tell.
As for the show’s newcomers, Luckett a new love interest for Rosewood, while Spirlin will play her daughter, described as a precocious and cynical girl who views Rosewood, the new man in her mother’s life, with suspicion.
And with that, I suppose we can say that, at least for some period during season 2, Rosewood and Villa will not get together.
Morris Chestnut stars as Dr. Beaumont Rosewood, Jr.; Jaina Lee Ortiz as Det. Annalise Villa; Lorraine Toussaint as Donna Rosewood; Gabrielle Dennis as Pippy Rosewood; Anna Konkle as Tara Milly Izikoff; and Domenick Lombardozzi as Capt. Ira Hornstock.
Below, watch a promo for season 2, which moves to Thursdays, starting September 22, on Fox.
