Lil Nas X was among four Americans stopped by Norwegian police after the group mistakenly rode e-scooters through a tunnel in Oslo.
They had followed a GPS route into the 1.8-kilometer (1.1 miles) downtown tunnel on Monday evening, police said. The six-lane Festning Tunnel was closed down by authorities as the group “used large parts of the roadway.”
“They apologized. We have escorted them out,” the police said on Twitter, The Independent reported.
Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet reported that Lil Nas X was one of the Americans to be stopped, according to The Independent. Police were said to have been called after the group was seen entering the tunnel. The riders were approached by officers who checked the CCTV footage.

“At one point, they also crossed the road, then realized it wasn’t such a good idea,” Vidar Pedersen, the tunnel’s operations manager, said, according to the BBC. “We then sent two police patrols, guided them out and onto the quay at the waterfront.”
No arrests were made following the incident.
Lil Nas X posted photographs on his Instagram Story. He captioned one of himself posing in the tunnel, “about to go to jail in Norway.” In another Story, the performer posed with two police officers, joking that they had released him because they were fans.

Lil Nas X is in Norway to perform at the Slottsffell festival on Wednesday.
He isn’t the first tourist to get stuck in the country’s tunnel system. In 2019, a man who said he followed a route indicated by Google Maps entered the nearly 10-mile-long Opera Tunnel complex. He was neither charged nor detained, the BBC reported.
