On Sunday night, the Louisiana State University women’s basketball team snatched its first national NCAA championship win with a decisive 102-85 victory over the Iowa Hawkeyes. But it wasn’t just a sports win for 19-year-old LSU first-year student-athlete and aspiring rapper Flau’jae Johnson. She confirmed a forthcoming collaboration is in the works with Lil Wayne.
“Imagine Winning A National Championship Your FRESHMAN Year! Then Getting A Lil Wayne Feature Right After ??! What is life,” she tweeted in celebration of her women’s basketball team’s NCAA championship victory on Tuesday night.

The New Orleans native and Young Money founder complimented the LSU star athlete’s rapping skills after her sports performance against Virginia Tech during the Final Four the previous weekend.
“Actually, me and Flau’jae, we’ve spoken, but we about to connect musically soon,” Lil Wayne revealed in an interview on ESPN’s The Bird & Taurasi Show.
Johnson has been a key player in LSU’s winning strategy this season. But the musical artist is also signed to JAY-Z’s Roc Nation record label. Following the win, Johnson performed her single at the Westin Hotel, where the team stayed.
Although no date has been revealed for what’s in the works, the announcement hyped fellow Tigers and other artists for the upcoming musical partnership.
“Just let me be the video vixen,” star forward Angel Reese tweeted.
