Netflix has officially renewed Lost In Space for its third and final season. In the third season, the Robinson family’s journey to Alpha Centauri will conclude.
Lost in Space takes its cues from the original series and follows the Robinson family as they are forced to come together in a time of crisis. Stranded light-years from their intended destination, they find themselves battling a strange new alien environment and their own personal demons.
The cast of Lost In Space includes Waves breakout star Taylor Russell, Toby Stephens, Molly Parker, Maxwell Jenkins, Mina Sundwall, Ignacio Serricchio, Parker Posey and Sibongile Mlambo.
Zack Estrin, the showrunner and executive producer of Lost In Space, recently reached an agreement with Netflix to produce a new series under a multi-year deal.
“From the beginning, we’ve always viewed this particular story of The Robinsons as a trilogy. A three-part epic family adventure with a clear beginning, middle and end. It’s also worth noting that, with what these characters go through just trying to survive each episode–if anyone deserves to catch their breath before their next mission — it’s Will, Penny, Judy, Maureen, John, Don West, Dr. Smith….and The Robot. And of course, Debbie the Chicken.
“So while this chapter of Lost In Space is coming to a rousing conclusion, I’m excited about continuing to explore new stories with my friends at Netflix, and for all of the incredible possibilities that lie ahead,” he added.
The last season of Lost In Space is expected to premiere in 2021.
