Marlon Wayans and Keke Palmer are headlining a what’s being called a “romantic buddy action-comedy” at Lionsgate
The two stars will lead Ride or Die, which is from Lionsgate, according to Deadline. The film will follow Wayans’ character, by-the-book robbery detective Martin Banks, and Palmer’s Tami Moore, a tough narcotics detective. Their differing detective styles clash when they are paired together to stop $2 billion worth of deadly opioids from flooding Chicago.

Deadline reports that Wayans, who wrote the screenplay with Rick Alvarez, described the film as When Harry Met Sally with guns.
Wayans will produce with Alvarez through their joint production company, Ugly Baby. Palmer and her mother, Sharon Palmer, are also in talks to executive produce. Neal H. Moritz will produce through his company, Original Film, with Toby Ascher. Lionsgate’s Scott O’Brien will oversee.
While this is the first time Wayans and Palmer have starred in a movie together, and both have big 2026s. Palmer currently stars in Peacock series The ‘Burbs and Boots Riley’s upcoming film, I Love Boosters. Wayans, on the other hand, recently starred in football horror Him and is starring in and producing Scary Movie 6.
