Well, he didn’t have much luck with the Fox TV network, after starring in 2 drama series in “Almost Human” and the last season of the “The Following” (2 shows I actually enjoyed and talked about often on this blog; both were canceled unfortunately). So let’s see if the luck of ABC rubs off on him.

Michael Ealy assumes leading man duties in the upcoming season of ABC’s anthology series “Secrets & Lies” in which he’ll star opposite Juliette Lewis.

Based on the Australian TV show of the same name, the upcoming season centers on a case that will see Ealy as a man whose wife’s murder is under investigation, and, as you can expect, he becomes the prime suspect. Did he do it? Did he not do it? Lewis, as Detective Andrea Cornell, will head the investigation.

Here’s a breakdown: Smart, well-educated and hard working, Eric Warner is at the top of his game – he’s the heir apparent to his family’s private equity firm in Charlotte, NC, newly married to “the one” and walking on air. Eric is attending a party to honor dad passing over the reins when suddenly tragedy strikes – his wife Kate is murdered, and life, as he knows it, is over.

Jordana Brewster plays the murdered wife; and also starring are Mekia Cox as Ealy’s protective sister, and Terry O’Quinn as Ealy’s father and head of the family-owned and run private equity firm.

These so-called anthology series seem to be getting popular – the “American Horror Story” franchise, as well as “True Detective,” “American Crime,” “American Crime Story,” “Secrets & Lies,” and whatever else I’m missing.

The new season of “Secrets & Lies” (subtitled “The Fall”) will premiere on ABC on Sunday September 25th.

Three clips from the series have been released and are embedded below, followed by a trailer:
