The cast of Moesha reunited Friday on talk show, The Real.
Brandy, Ray J, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Shar Jackson, Countess Vaughn, William Allen Young and Marcus T. Paulk gathered with the hosts and talked about the show, what they’ve been up to since and if a possible reboot is their future.
When asked by host Jeannie Mai, all of the cast members enthusiastically said that they would be down for a reboot.
Moesha was a hit success for UPN, running for six seasons from 1996 to 2001, and spawning a spinoff, The Parkers. It’s finale left several unanswered questions, such as a possible Moesha (Brandy) pregnancy and the kidnapping of Myles (Paulk).
A Moesha follow-up or not, we can all say that when UPN and The WB closed shop to make The CW, black sitcoms like we saw in the late ’90s/early ’00s on UPN are no longer found on the network, which hosts mostly teen-young adult dramas and DC comics programming. It’s time for The CW to have some color (aside from Black Lightning which is coming soon).
