In an announcement made by Lionsgate executive Jennifer Connell, Love and Hip Hop franchise creator Mona Scott-Young has signed an overall deal with Lionsgate.

Under her new deal, Young will develop and produce new and unscripted content for the network under her production company, Monani Entertainment. Young will also have the opportunity to create and develop new projects for Lionsgate’s scripted and digital platforms.

“I’m delighted to be working with an entrepreneurial Hollywood studio that endorses bold, original content and the artists behind it,” Young said. “I’m excited to join Kevin Beggs, Sandra Stern, Jen and the rest of the Lionsgate team in developing unscripted series that can break barriers and resonate across all audiences.”

In addition to creating the Love & Hip Hop franchise, Young has also managed the career of hip-hop legend Missy Elliott and released her first novel, Blurred Lines, in June.
