Power creator Courtney A. Kemp’s Netflix era is in full swing with the trailer release for her first series at the streamer, Nemesis.
The season will have eight episodes. The series stars Matthew Law, Y’lan Noel, Cleopatra Coleman, Tre Hale, Domenick Lombardozzi, Jonnie Park, Ariana Guerra, Gabrielle Dennis, Michael Potts, Sophina Brown, Cedric Joe and Jeff Pierre
Per the description, the series is “the story of two men on either side of the law, the tale of what happens when an unstoppable force (an expert criminal) meets an immovable object (a brilliant police detective). What starts as a series that aims to subvert the heist genre at every turn, amped with thrilling life-or-death stakes, family dynamics and explosive action, actually gives birth to an exploration of what drives us, sustains us, and ultimately destroys us.”
What other actors will appear in the series?
Guest stars are Moe Irvin, Quincy Isaiah, Jay Reeves, Mike O’Malley, Stephanie Sigman, Khalilah Joi, Shane Johnson, Siua Ikale’o, Dawnn Lewis, Mark Feuerstein and Chris Bauer.
Kemp is the showrunner and co-created the series with Tani Marole. They executive produce with Philipp A. Barnett and End of Episode’s Chris Selak. Directors are Mario Van Peebles, Millcent Shelton, Rob Hardy and Ruben Garcia. Van Peebles also executive produces the episodes he directs, which are 101 and 102.
On the series, Marole told Netflix’s Tudum, “We’re used to the white shining knight and the black cat. What if the black cat’s actually this great human being, and he just happens to do crime for a living? And what if the shining knight has some real anger issues, might need therapy, but he’s the hero? They both have moral compasses. It’s just about which side of the coin they’re on.”
When does ‘Nemesis’ premiere?
The series premieres on May 14. Watch the trailer below:
