Jazmine Robinson is an influencer who finds herself as an unqualified TV executive in the exclusive trailer for the upcoming KeyTV Network series, Nepotista.

Developed by KeyTV founder and beloved star Keke Palmer and Heaux & Tell writer Nakia Stephens, Nepotista is described as “a satirical and insightful look into the entertainment industry through the lens of nepotism.”

Robinson plays Nikki Rivers, “an influencer-turned-showrunner…whose unqualified rise to power comes courtesy of her mother, the head of the Riverworld Entertainment empire,” according to the logline. “Armed with nepotism and surrounded by a hilariously mismatched writing staff, Nikki embarks on an uphill battle toward creating a hit show—or, as it often turns out, a spectacular failure.”

The exclusive trailer below shows how Nikki has to start turning her wheels to develop a team and create a show, despite her lack of experience. But at least she has an energetic, diverse team of friends around her helping her each step of the way.

This is Palmer and Stephens’ third collaboration, with the first being Heaux & Tell. Both series are created under Stephens’ multi-part deal with KeyTV Network.

Palmer said how the series and its lead character will be “painfully relatable” to viewers.

“Nepotista is about the unspoken truths of the entertainment world,” she said in a statement. “It’s funny, messy, and painfully relatable. We all know a Nikki Rivers—someone fumbling their way through privilege—but this show is also about finding your stride, even when you have no idea what you’re doing. I can’t wait for viewers to see themselves in this story.”
