Get your tissues ready! Netflix’s highly popular reality show Queer Eye has been renewed for a third tear-jerking season.
The show, a reboot of the early 2000s reality show Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, stars experts Karamo Brown (culture), Jonathan Van Ness (grooming), Bobby Berk (interior design), Tan France (fashion) and Antoni Porowski (food and wine).
The series has quickly become one of television’s breakout hits, less for its showcase of fashion and style and more for its focus on genuine moments of human connection. One of the standout moments includes Brown having a heart-to-heart with the participant for the week, Cory, about police brutality and the differences between white and black men in America.
The show is also one of several shows featuring LGBT stars and storylines that have been nominated for Emmys this week; something GLAAD has praised on its site. It has garnered four Emmy nominations for Structured Reality Program, Picture Editing, Casting and Cinematography. It joins shows like The Incredible Kimmy Schmidt, which stars Tituss Burgess, and RuPaul’s Drag Race, among others.
