Netflix‘s Resident Evil series is taking shape. Shadow and Act has confirmed that Lance Reddick has been cast as Albert Wesker. Also, Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph and Paola Nuñez will also star Resident Evil is a live-action, scripted series that will tell a brand new story building on Capcom’s legendary video game franchise.
The series’ official description describes it as taking place “nearly three decades after the discovery of the T-virus, an outbreak reveals the Umbrella Corporation’s dark secrets.”
The streaming giant first announced the series order last August. The latest news about the series comes as Netflix is also prepping to release the animated series, Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, in July.
The series is frrom showrunner, executive producer and writer Andrew Dabb. Mary Leah Sutton is an executive producer and writer and Robert Kulzer and Oliver Berben of Constantin Film are also executive producing. Constantin Film CEO Martin Moszkowicz is also producing. The studio is Constatin Film.
The first season will have eight hour-long episodes.
