Niecy Nash has booked a multi-episode arc on the upcoming 4th season of Showtime Networks’ critically acclaimed drama series “Masters of Sex.”
Nash will play Louise Bell, a local AA chairperson running Masters’ (Michael Sheen’s) court-ordered daily meetings. She fervently believes in AA’s message, and uses it to push Masters to reevaluate his life.
Production on season 4 recently began in Los Angeles.
Premiering Sunday, September 11th at 10 PM ET/PT, “Masters of Sex” stars Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan as real-life pioneers of human sexuality, William Masters and Virginia Johnson. Also starring Caitlin FitzGerald and Annaleigh Ashford.
Most recently, Nash joined the cast of TNT’s “Claws” pilot, an hour-long scripted dramedy set in a Southern Florida nail salon, executive-produced by Rashida Jones and Will McCormack.
“Claws,” written by co-executive producer Eliot Laurence, is described as a “wickedly funny meditation on female badness which follows the rise of five diverse and treacherous Florida manicurists in the traditionally male world of organized crime. We will soon find out there is a lot more going on at the Nail Artisan of Manatee County salon than SILK wraps and pedicures.”
Nash has been cast to play Desna Simms, the owner of the salon.
The new season of “Masters of Sex” begins in 1968, and will take viewers into the “swinging ’70s,” during which time the series’ characters will take on new partners both professionally, personally and sexually.
“Masters of Sex” was developed for television by Michelle Ashford who also serves as an executive producer.
Produced by Sony Pictures Television, the series is an adaptation of Thomas Maier’s book “Masters of Sex: The Life and Times of William Masters and Virginia Johnson, The Couple Who Taught America How To Love.”
