Niecy Nash has joined the cast of TNT’s “Claws” pilot, an hour-long scripted dramedy set in a Southern Florida nail salon, executive-produced by Rashida Jones and Will McCormack.
“Claws,” written by co-executive producer Eliot Laurence, is described as a “wickedly funny meditation on female badness which follows the rise of five diverse and treacherous Florida manicurists in the traditionally male world of organized crime. We will soon find out there is a lot more going on at the Nail Artisan of Manatee County salon than SILK wraps and pedicures.”
Nash has been cast to play Desna Simms, the owner of the salon.
“Claws” will be produced by Warner Horizon Television (WHTV), a division of the Warner Bros.
“Claws” marks Rashida Jones’ second project for Turner this year. She can currently be seen on TNT’s sister network TBS in the new cop show parody “Angie Tribeca,” in which she plays the title role and serves as producer.
