Nike’s classic tee is being sold in USC’s signature cardinal color. It features the letters “USC” and the number “6” on the front, while “James Jr.” is included on the back. The sports shirt is retailing for $30 on the Nike website. Most sizes have already sold out.

The release comes as the future is still uncertain concerning James’ basketball career. The 18-year-old was hospitalized after collapsing during practice at USC on July 24. James was then released and seen in public with his family. He did not join the USC Trojans on their 10-day exhibition tour to Greece and Croatia from Aug. 5-15.

After examination, James was diagnosed with having a congenital heart defect.

“It is an anatomically and functionally significant Congenital Heart Defect which can and will be treated,” a spokesperson for the James family said in a statement at the time. “We are very confident in Bronny’s full recovery and return to basketball in the very near future. We will continue to provide updates to media and respectfully reiterate the family’s request for privacy.”

The release also comes after James signed a NIL deal with Nike in October 2022. He joined a roster of student-athletes at the company, including Caitlin Clark, Haley Jones, DJ Wagner and JuJu Watkins.

“For as long as I can remember, Nike’s been a part of my family,” James said in a press release. “Getting a chance to team up with them and continue my family’s legacy both on the court and in the community is wild — it really means a lot to me.”

James is one of basketball’s most famous student-athletes. He has one of the highest NIL valuations and is also expected to generate buzz when — and if — he comes back to the court. USC has taken additional security measures for celebrities wanting to watch him play.
