FX premiered Donald Glover’s much-anticipated “Atlanta” series last night, Tuesday, September 6 at 10pm, beginning what will be a 10-episode first season, each episode a half-hour long, revolving around two cousins on their way up through the Atlanta rap scene whose opposing views on art versus commerce, success and race, will make their quest anything but easy.
Brian Tyree Henry, Lakeith Lee Stanfield and Zazie Beetz all join Glover in the series.
If you missed the premiere episode last night, or just don’t have cable TV, you’re in luck, because FX has released episode 1 in its entirety, online, so check it out below. I certainly don’t anticipate that they’ll continue to do this for future episodes, so, of course, if after watching the below first episode, you find yourself intrigued and wanting to see more, you’ll obviously have to sign up for some subscription service that carries FX. Unlike HBO, Showtime, CBS, Starz and a few other networks, FX doesn’t yet have a stand-alone subscription streaming service. There’s the FX Now app, but you still need to have a cable TV package to use it in full.
