The Obamas are quickly gearing up for their Netflix debut. Former President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama have hired Priya Swaminathan as their producing partner for the couple’s new production company.

The Hollywood Reporter states that Swaminathan is a veteran entertainment executive, having worked as Annapurna Pictures’ director of development, as well as an activist who has served as an industry advisor for the Sundance Institute’s FilmTwo Initiative, which focuses on developing minority filmmakers. She’s also been a part of Democratic politics and has been involved with the Time’s Up initiative.

It’s unknown what Swaminathan’s role will be with the Obamas’ company and, to put an even sharper point on the lack of information there is, both Netflix and a representative for the couple declined to comment to The Hollywood Reporter. However, the Obamas are at work hiring more people for their burgeoning company.

We reported in May that Netflix announced the Obamas had signed a multi-year deal to produce scripted and unscripted series as well as documentaries, docu-series and features. The Obamas hope to use their platform on the service “to cultivate and curate the talented, inspiring, creative voices who are able to promote greater empathy and understanding between peoples and help them share their stories with the entire world.”
