Shadow and Act has learned that Netflix’s acclaimed coming-of-age dramedy, On My Block, has been renewed for its fourth and final season. It is a typical (perhaps even long) lifespan for a typical Netflix original that allows it to conclude its story.
Series stars Sierra Capri, Jason Genao, Brett Gray, Diego Tinoco, Jessica Marie Garcia and Julio Macias are set to return to Freeridge for “one last time for an epic conclusion to their stories.” [SPOILER] The end of the third season seemed to depict a time set in the near future where the group is no longer friends. A fourth season would address this and use something to bring them together if this is what really happened.
The fourth season will have 10 episodes, with co-creator Lauren Iungerich returning as Showrunner and Executive Producer. Co-creators and executive producers Eddie Gonzalez and Jeremy Haft are also returning set alongside Jamie Dooner as executive producer.
On My Block is a coming-of-age comedy-drama about four bright and street-savvy friends navigating their way through the triumph, pain and the newness of high school set in the rough inner city. It’s set in a predominantly Hispanic and African-American part of South Central Los Angeles and follows a fearless foursome as they enter high school and confront the challenges of adolescence and growing up in their neighborhood.
