OWN will make its first foray into original film production and has announced they will release three original Christmas movies that will air in November.
“We are excited to bring holiday movies to OWN,” said Tina Perry, president, OWN. “This special time of year is about spending time with the ones you love, and we think our viewers are going to enjoy watching these movies together throughout the season.”
The three movies–One Fine Christmas, Carole’s Christmas and Baking Christmas–are slated to air over three consecutive Fridays in the month of November.
The first film, One Fine Christmas, will star the father and daughter duo, Rick Fox and Sasha Fox. The movie will revolve around Haley (Sasha Fox), a girl who returns home for Christmas for the first time since her family split up. The film premieres on Friday, November 15 at 9 p.m. Marla Gibbs, Vanessa Williams, Alfonso Torres Caballero, June Carryl, Rodney Van Johnson and Eva La Dare also star.
The second film, Carole’s Christmas, stars Jackée Harry and Kimberly Elise. Premiering Friday, November 22 at 9 p.m. Carole’s Christmas revolves around an overworked businessman named Carole (Elise) who wishes she had taken a different path. It isn’t until her wish is granted that Carole is grateful for the life she has. Cayden K. Williams (David Makes Man), Bianca Buck and Anthony Montgomery also star.
The third and final film, Baking Christmas, premieres on Friday, November 29 at 9 p.m. and chronicles a woman named Patty who decides to retire from her bakery business, leaving her children to take over. To decide who will run the enterprise, a Christmas cake bakeoff is scheduled. It stars Aloma Wright, Tim Reid, Khalilah Joi, Leigh-Ann Rose, Arnell Powell and Yohance Myles.
