Fans of the upcoming streaming series Percy Jackson and the Olympians have been treated to a new trailer featuring action, humor, and magic.

Glynn Turman plays a large role in the trailer as Chiron aka Mr. Brunner, who tells Percy (Walker Scobell) about how the mythological world has been waiting on him in its battle against dark forces. Ayran Simhadri and Leah Sava Jefferies also cameo in the trailer as Percy’s friends, Grover Underwood and Annabeth Chase.

The television series, an adaptation of the popular books by Rick Riordan and film franchise, also stars Lin-Manuel Miranda, Megan Mullally, Toby Stephens, Virginia Kull, Jason Mantzoukas, Jay Duplass, Adam Copeland, Charlie Bushnell, Dior Goodjohn, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Olivea Morton, Suzanne Cryer, Timm Sharp, Timothy Omundson, and the late Lance Reddick. Riordan and Jon Steinberg write the first two episodes, which are directed by James Bobin.

Riordan and Rebecca Riordan serve as executive producers with Steinberg, Bobin, Dan Shotz, Bert Salke, The Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Jeremy Bell, and D.J. Goldberg, Monica Owusu-Breen, Jim Rowe, Anders Engström and Jet Wilkinson.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians debut on Disney+ Dec. 20 with a two-episode premiere, followed by weekly episodes.
