Here’s the trailer for a new Netflix original film titled #realityhigh, which premieres Friday on the streaming service.

The movie’s synopsis: When nerdy high schooler Dani (Cooper) finally attracts the interest of her longtime crush (Powers), she lands in the cross hairs of his ex, a social media celebrity.

Powers, who rose to fame starring as Ronnie DeVoe in The New Edition Story currently stars in the Freeform drama, Famous in Love. 

Cooper currently stars in the Canadian television series, Travelers (international distribution by Netflix).

The film’s diverse writing team is Murder Ink, comprised of Hudson Obayuwana, Brandon Broussard (alums of Howard University)  and Jana Savage.

“We’re really excited for what Netflix feels can be an iconic high school film for this generation to be Premiering worldwide this Friday, and proud that we made sure to have two talented up and coming black leads at the helm,” said Obayuwana.
