Today SiriusXM announced the premiere of a new audio documentary on the trailblazing late comedian Redd Foxx. “Redd Foxx: We’ve Come to Join You” will chronicle the life and legacy of the “Sanford and Son” star, as well as feature personal stories from those who knew him best. The audio documentary will debut exclusively on SiriusXM’s Foxxhole Channel 96 on October 11 at 8:00 pm ET.

The documentary – timed to the 25th anniversary of Foxx’s sudden passing – will give an unparalleled look into Foxx’s life through commentary from fellow comedian Eddie Griffin; comedian and writer on “Sanford and Son,” Paul Mooney; his sister-in-law Linda Griner; longtime friend and former co-star Della Reese-Lett, who was on set with Foxx during his heart attack; producer and writer on “The Redd Foxx Comedy Hour,” Bob Einstein; and many others close to Foxx. The documentary will also include rarely heard stand-up from the late icon.

A provocative comedian who inspired many of the biggest stars in comedy, Foxx became a household name in the 1970s with his groundbreaking hit sitcom “Sanford and Son.” His one-liners and recurring gags, such as clutching his chest and faking a heart attack, have become a part of American pop culture history. Foxx was launching a new series when he died of a heart attack on October 11, 1991.

“Redd Foxx: We’ve Come to Join You” will premiere on October 11 at 8:00 pm ET on Jamie Foxx’s The Foxxhole channel, and will re-air multiple times throughout the week.

SiriusXM subscribers will also be able to hear the special via SiriusXM On Demand, through the SiriusXM app on smartphones and other connected devices, as well as online at www.siriusxm.com/player.
