A series about Riri Williams may be headed to Disney+.
According to an exclusive report from The Cinema Spot, an Ironheart series is allegedly in development at Disney+ and Marvel Studios. The report states that the targeted shooting date is slated to be sometime in 2021. An Ironheart film script written by Jada Rodriguez was published on The Black List in 2018.
The reported series is said to follow Riri Williams, a 15-year-old engineering genius who is a student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Inspired by Tony Stark, the prodigious teen builds a suit based on Iron Man’s armor and adopts the nickname Ironheart.
If the reports of Ironheart are confirmed, it would be just one of the many Marvel series to be in development at Disney+. The streaming service is set to release several series from Marvel series such as WandaVision and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. All of the series will now be explicitly connected to the films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
