Anyone who has seen Parks & Recreation certainly knows that Retta’s comedic timing and witty retorts are impeccable. Those eager for the fixings of the Jersey native’s patented brand of off-the-cuff comedy can breathe a sigh of relief.  NBC has renewed the former Parks & Rec alum’s current comedy Good Girls for a second season.

Good Girls accrued on average a 1.5 rating in adults 18 -49 and 6.1 million viewers in L+7 Nielsen ratings. Besides boosting respectable ratings, the suburban dramedy has been well-reviewed and become the first series on a Big 4 broadcast to land a lucrative deal under Netflix’s co-licensing model where the streaming giant pays a fee for distributing shows outside North America.

The series, which also stars former Mad Men alum Christina Hendricks and Parenthood alum Mae Whitman, chronicles the lives of three suburban mothers who grew tired with trying to make ends meet. At their wits’ end with trying to salvage, the trio decides to pull off a supermarket heist. Although successful, the trio soon find themselves in a bind when the supermarket manager recognizes one of the women.

Retta, who caught our eyes as Donna Meagle on Parks & Recreation, stars as Ruby Hill, a cash-strapped waitress struggling to pay for her daughter’s kidney disease treatments.
