Sad news for former The Real Housewives of Potomac star Monique Samuels. Over the weekend, the mother of three announced the sudden passing of her beloved cousin. Samuels shared the news in an emotional Instagram post.

“This hurts so much,” she began. “One of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. He’s always smiling and takes care of everyone. He’s a great dad to his son and minds his business.”

Samuels had one note for whoever is responsible, noting, “Whoever did this- I hope you rot in the deepest, darkest pit in hell.”

Per Samuels, her cousin was killed on Friday, May 14. Not many details are known publicly.

Fans and even a few of her fellow co-stars offered up words of support and encouragement. “Sending prayers your way,” wrote Karen Huger, Samuel’s former co-star and friend.

Married to Medicine star Toya Bush-Harris also sent her condolences, writing, “So sorry for your loss,” along with crying emojis.

Others who shared their support include reality television producer Carlos King, Love & Hip Hop star Hazel E, former RHOA star Shamari DeVoe, RHOD star D’Andra Simmons, and hundreds of Samuels’ Instagram followers.

Samuels’ family life has been featured on the show. She has two siblings that she’s close to, both of whom work for her. She’s married to retired NFL star, Chris Samuels.

The New Jersey native was a cast member on the show for four seasons before calling it quits after Season 5. Now she’s focused on her own businesses, including an essential oils line, Mila Eve Essentials, and her parenting website/podcast Not For Lazy Moms. Samuels is also a talented rapper, releasing her first single and accompanying music video Drag Queens last fall.
