Monique Samuels may no longer be part of The Real Housewives of Potomac cast but she still has a legion fans. Her Season 5 altercation with Candiace Dillard Bassett will go down in Housewives history as one of the best or worst scenes (depending on who you ask).

Samuels has long maintained that she believes the fight was mutually edged on between her and Dillard Bassett, while Dillard Bassett disagrees, claiming she never got physical with Samuels. But Samuels and others, including Andy Cohen and some of her RHOP co-stars, say that Dillard Bassett’s sharp tongue is equally to blame for much of the mess she finds herself in. Apparently, journalist Jemele Hill agrees.
Hill took to Twitter to let her followers know that she’s been catching up on RHOP this summer, calling it her “guilty pleasure.” After watching the events that led up to the fight, she says both Dillard Bassett and Samuels are to blame.

“Here’s what I’m not understanding about their fight: When you dare someone to drag you, and then they do exactly what you asked, how is this an attack?” Hill asks, referencing Dillard Bassett’s famously asking if Samuels was going to “drag” her before things turned physical.
After one fan responded that a verbal and physical fight are two separate things, Hill talked about it further.
“Yes and no. If my words are about the fact that I’m ready to fight, then that’s different,” she continued. “Candiace made it seem like she was ready for the get down. And clearly she wasn’t.”

“Clearly grown women fighting is a terrible look, but it is blame on both sides. Candiace is always telling people she’s about that action, and then you get that action you asked for, so … Part of me thinks the real emotional trauma is losing the fight,” she wrote.

Dillard Bassett isn’t a fan of Hill’s commentary, tweeting Hill, “Messaged you on ig since you’re too chicken sh*t to have you Twitter dm’s on.”

But Samuels loves the support and observation, responding to a fan page that reposted Hill’s Tweets on Instagram, “love @jemelehill she keeps it unapologetically real,” along with three laughing faced emojis.
