The Real Housewives of Potomac star, Gizelle Bryant and her ex-husband, Pastor Jamal Bryant were working on rekindling their love during the show’s most recent season. Although the Bryants’ children were not fond of the idea, the pair, if not for the sake of a great storyline, continued on this journey of fighting for their love. They diligently worked on reuniting.

Despite claims of infidelity which were memorably brought to the season 5 reunion by former star Monique Samuels and the Book of Receipts, Gizelle still proclaimed that she and Jamal had the best relationship.
However, the pair now appears to be calling it quits. In a recent appearance on The Breakfast Club with her friend and co-star, Robyn Dixon, Gizelle dropped the bomb that she and Jamal are over.
She attributes the split to them living in different cities during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. “We were working on us getting back to together … but he lives in Atlanta [and] I live in Maryland … with the pandemic…we just realized it’s not the right time. It’s just not going to work.”
Bryant emphasized that while romantic involvement appears to not be in the stars, the pair will co-parent to the best of their abilities.
“We’ve been in each other’s lives for 25 years,” she continued. “He is one of my best friends [and] I to him. I don’t know anyone more than I know a Jamal Bryant. No, we’re not together, but yes, we are still in each other’s lives.”
Gizelle was also questioned about her father’s views on rekindling with Jamal.
“He gave his opinion which is, this isn’t what is best for my daughter, period,” Bryant responded to DJ Envy. “I think that that’s fair. My father is always going to give his opinion. When he said it to the world that is not the first time that I had heard it.”
RHOP returns for season 6 this summer and the breakdown of the former spouses’ new romance is sure to be a topic.
