Love Island thrives on villa betrayals — but during The Traitors Season 4 finale, Rob Rausch proved that double-crossing plays just as well beyond the fire pit.
Rausch, of Love Island USA Season 6 fame, stabbed Love Island legend and Love Island USA Aftersun host Maura Higgins in the back to secure the season’s victory. To make amends, he plans to buy her a pretty pricey accessory. Here’s everything to know about Rausch’s The Traitors win and how he plans to smooth things over with Higgins.
Rausch teamed up with Higgins and convinced her to vote out Tara Lipinski and Eric Nam
The Traitors Season 4 came to an end on Thursday with Rausch taking the prize pot himself. Rausch convinced Higgins to vote out Faithful Tara Lipinski and his fellow Traitor, Eric Nam. Their departures left Rausch and Higgins as the final two contestants left standing.
According to Decider, in the final Circle of Truth, Rausch shocked Higgins by admitting he was and has always been a Traitor. Higgins, in complete disbelief, watched $110,000 slip through her fingers.
“I’m a fool. This is why I don’t trust anybody ever, because they stab you in the godda*n back,” an emotional Higgins said in a confessional.
Despite Rausch’s betrayal, Higgins praised his strategy and joked that his lying skills might make it hard for him to find a girlfriend.
“He’s a bad man,” Maura continued. “But good for him. Oh, my days. Rob, you’re a f***ing snake. But well done.”
Rausch plans on buying Higgins a Birkin bag
Though Rausch showed no mercy on The Traitors, he shared during the Season 4 reunion that he plans to make it up to Higgins.
“Probably save it for the future,” he said after reunion host Andy Cohen asked what he’ll do with the prize money, “and I have to buy Maura a Birkin bag.”
Rausch’s once-fellow Traitor, Candiace Dillard Bassett, who seemed to be aware of the gift, added, “I was gonna say, there’s a promise to buy Maura a Birkin bag.”
Another Traitor, Lisa Rinna, told Rausch to prepare to spend a minimum of $10,000 on the designer purse.
During the reunion, Rausch also confessed he ultimately thinks he won the season because “I just got lucky.”
Bassett jumped in and gave him his flowers.
She responded, “A humble Traitor! I would say it’s a combination of smarts and luck. I think this group of Faithfuls need to go to Faithful school and perhaps that impacted some of the success.”
Nam, however, was not as supportive and confessed it took him a “few days” to recover from Rausch’s gameplay.
“I will never trust anybody ever again,” he said.
