In 2021, is the Black experience accurately represented on-screen?

Shadow And Act is partnering with Sundance Film Festival to bring you Rising: Reflections from Young Black Hollywood!

Three of Hollywood’s brightest, rising Black stars from current or recent Sundance selections — Elle Lorraine (Bad Hair), Dominique Fishback (Judas and the Black Messiah) and Marcus Scribner (Farewell Amor) — will reflect on their experience of progress within the entertainment industry, what they really think about representation, and authentically capturing the Black experience on-screen.

In an important and timely conversation, rising stars Algee Smith, Dominique Fishback and Elle Lorraine come together to discuss their perspective on how the industry is progressing in regards to accurate representation of the Black experience on-screen. From the roles they’ve portrayed so far in their career, to the impact of the Black Lives Matter protests on Hollywood, to the freedom to be themselves in the industry, these stars talk about it all and much more. Panel moderated by Trey Mangum of Shadow And Act.

Tune in next week on Thurs., Jan. 28, 3 p.m. PST  / 4 p.m. MST and 6 p.m. EST at the Shadow And Act Lounge on Park City’s Virtual Main Street — no ticket required for viewing!
