Former Access Hollywood co-anchor Shaun Robinson has taken former colleague Billy Bush to task for how his white privilege made her feel uncomfortable while at work.
In response to a tweet from Bush about his conversation with NFL commentator Nate Burleson about the protests revolving around George Floyd’s murder at the hands of police, Robinson tweeted (as reported by TVLine), “I appreciate you being an ally NOW. But, if you want to talk about the pain #WhitePrivilege causes African Americans, you should probably also talk to the Black woman who sat next to you on the set of #AccessHollywood for years.”

Bush’s privilege has been the subject of the entertainment journalism world before, with Tanika Ray explaining why she left Extra after Bush was hired to host. Beforehand, Bush had been disgraced by his Access Hollywood video in which he doesn’t speak up against Donald Trump’s sexual harassment of women.
“I think we live in a country where it’s been proven time and again, that privilege is real,” Ray said to UrbanHollywood411 in 2019. “He can make a comeback. Whereas one of my co-hosts, A.J. Calloway, he was allegedly involved in some sexual scandal. It’s never been proven, but he will never work in TV again. But that’s America isn’t it? And once we understand the reality of it, we can move to changing that. But sure, [Bush] can get another chance. That’s sort of the world we live in.”
