On the latest episode of Shadow And Act’s Facebook Live Q&A series, Locked Down With ___ iconic actress Sheryl Lee Ralph, who currently stars in Freeform’s Motherland: Fort Salem, and told fans that she was actually meant to be in the film The Photograph, but her scene got cut.
She answered a question from our Shadow And Act audience about whether she preferred television, film or stage. The actress then delved into the pros and cons of each.
“Film is great. Film is amazing. But with film, some of your best work can end up on the floor or not in the movie at all,” she said.
“I was in this wonderful movie called The Photograph and I had the greatest time working with Issa Rae…love her, love her, love her! We had this great scene together, it was great. Guess what happened? Once the movie was shot, the scene didn’t fit in anymore. The whole storyline, in fact, was cut out,” she continued.
Her manager didn’t have the heart to tell her her role was no longer in the film, which left her going to see the film only to find her part had been cut out! While we were robbed of seeing Ralph’s work in the film, let’s hope her cut scenes make it as a DVD extra!
